4th-6th Grade Sustainable Watershed Education Program

Upper District partners with the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana to provide a free water conservation program with interactive workshops and curriculum for fourth through sixth grade students in Upper District’s service area. Discovery Science Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating children, assisting teachers, and increasing public understanding of science, math, and technology through interactive exhibits and programs.

The Sustainable Watershed Education Program provides a well-rounded curriculum involving climate change solutions, watershed protections, groundwater awareness, water pollution prevention and water runoff. Students are encouraged to maintain conservation behaviors that can reduce negative impacts on water supply sources. This program includes interactive assemblies and in-class hands-on workshops.
